Two boys, 9 and 10, help Mom save baby with CPR

Sharing is Caring

Two boys, 9 and 10, come to the rescue of a mother who was frantically calling for help. The mother noticed that her 12 week old baby was not breathing and ran outside yelling for someone to call 911. The neighborhood boys were playing football and stopped playing and rushed to help her. The boys found her splashing water on the baby’s face and trying to do CPR. They stopped her and told her to push on the baby’s chest with two fingers 5 to 10 times and then pinch the baby’s nose and breath into its mouth.

The mother, Susanna Rohm, said the boy said it with such confidence that she just listened to what he said and did it. After a few seconds the baby started breathing and crying.

The boys say they learned CPR from posters in their school cafeteria. One of the boys said, “We just wanted to know just in case it happened, but we never knew we’d have to do that.”
