Heartsaver First Aid & CPR/AED is a classroom, video-based, instructor-led course that teaches students critical skills needed to respond to and manage a first aid, choking or sudden cardiac arrest emergency in the first few minutes until emergency medical services (EMS) arrives. Students learn skills such as how to treat bleeding, sprains, broken bones, shock and other first aid emergencies. This course also teaches adult CPR and AED use.
Key changes reflecting the new science from the 2010 American Heart Association Guidelines for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Emergency Cardiovascular Care
This course is for persons that are assigned to respond to emergencies in the workplace or community and those who want to learn first aid, CPR and AED skills. You may required to take this course as part of your employer’s efforts to comply with OSHA regulations, e.g., corporate employees, security guards, airline personnel, lifeguards and other individuals who want or need first aid training.
Upon completion of this course, students receive American Heart Association Heartsaver First Aid & CPR/AED certification that is valid for two years.*
AHA requires each student to have the current student manual during training. They are available for purchase during registration or you may bring your own.
